Is the 'Rumer' true about Zac Efron?

If the rumor is true, then handsome Zac Efron is hooking up with starlet and Hollywood offspring Rumer Willis. While neither has confirmed the romance, the Internet is abuzz with speculation. Efron, the star of Disney's High School Musical franchise, recently split from longtime love, Vanessa Hudgens.

Zac Efron

The internet has been abuzz with speculation that 23-year-old Zac Efron is dating 22-year-old Rumer Willis, daughter of Hollywood superstars Bruce Willis and Demi Moore.

The actor was not available immediately for comment regarding his relationship status, but reports state that the two were quite close during a Willis family vacation to Turks & Caicos Parrot Island as long ago as last New Year's Eve.

While the two state they are "just friends," the media has jumped on this full force, alleging that Zac had a meeting with Rumer's mom, Demi, and brought her flowers. They have also been photographed several times over the years, fueling reports this relationship blossomed out of a longstanding friendship.

Zac dated High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens for more than three years and many thought they were headed to the altar. But despite their best efforts to make things work, Zac and Vanessa split in 2010.

"Right off the bat we had a connection," revealed Hudgens to Glamour. "I think everybody could see it. When we had our audition, they paired us together and he was adorable."

Inside scoop on Zac and Vanessa's split>>

She continued, "I think we inspire each other. I love having someone to grow with."

According to Efron, he is a one-woman man. He stated to Details, "Everyone tells me [to play the field], I think a lot of guys would enjoy that. But I'm not really like that." He most recently dated Taylor Schilling and has been linked to High School Musical co-star Ashley Tisdale.

Ashley and Zac spend her birthday together>>

Willis has had several high-profile relationships in the past several years with actors such as Rafi Gavron, Micah Alberti and Glee's Chord Overstreet. She made her feature film debut at age of seven alongside her mother in Now and Then. The following year, she worked with Demi Moore again, playing her daughter in Striptease. She has also acted alongside her father in the films The Whole Nine Yards and Hostage. She was Miss Golden Globe in 2008, an honor given to children of elite Hollywood actors and actresses.

From their dazzling dresses to their sparkling personalities, the stars of New Year’s Eve were absolutely stunning at their premiere Monday night. SheKnows was on the carpet to get you all the scoop on this festive flick.
Lea Michele and Hilary Swank dazzle at the New Year's Eve premiere

The stars of the New Year's Eve movie talk about their resolutions, memories and who they'll kiss at midnight.

The carpet at the premiere of New Year's Eve was almost as star-studded as the movie itself, with gorgeous actresses like Michelle Pfeiffer, Hilary Swank and Lea Michele all showing up in show-stopping dresses.

Movie Review: New Year's Eve has 'more celebrities than rehab!' >>

Hillary Swank and the New Year's Eve movie premiere
Hilary Swank jokes about her wardrobe at the New Years's Eve premiere.

What was Hilary Swank's wardrobe malfunction?

When Swank stopped to chat with SheKnows, she let us in on a little wardrobe malfunction with her gown, asking our opinion on how to fix it!

"I think my arms are in the wrong holes," the actress laughed, before proceeding to show us the different ways to wear her sleeves. "I think you have to have a degree to figure out how to put these dresses on."

Either way, we think she looked fab in her navy blue number and diamond Neil Lane chandelier earrings. After dishing on the film, Swank let us in on her favorite part of the New Year's Eve holiday.

"Just sitting at home with my friends and family around the kitchen table, reflecting on the year past and the year to come," said Swank.

Who will Lea Michele kiss on New Year's Eve?

Lea Michele at the New Year's Eve movie premiere
Lea Michele says about New Year's Eve, "I'll probably force my best friend to makeout with me."

Glee star Lea Michele, sporting a gorgeous Valentino gown, told us she too enjoys spending the holiday with loved ones.

"New York City, my family, champagne… perfect," Michele described her ideal New Year's.

And just because she's single, doesn't mean she won't be getting any action on midnight.

"I'll probably force my best friend to make out with me," Michele joked.

What can you expect from teen star Abigail Breslin?

Another of the film's leading ladies may be too young to talk kisses just yet, but she isn't too young to sport A-lister attire. Abigail Breslin, 15, was stunning in a white frilly frock as she spoke very maturely about her successful career.

"I feel very lucky that I get to do movies, but once I go home it's just about hanging out with my family and friends," Breslin told us.

Fergie and Josh Duhamel at the New Year's Eve premiere
Josh Duhamel with his New Year's kiss at the premiere of New Year's Eve.

Who looked better: Fergie or hubby Josh?

And although the starlets stole the spotlight Monday night, we have to hand it to hotties Zac Efron and Josh Duhamel for their dapper duds, as well.

Efron looked amazing in a slick grey suit as he posed with his love interest in the film, Michelle Pfeiffer. While Duhamel looked dashing too, it was his lady love Fergie in her sequined white dress that really wowed the crowd, stopping to blow a kiss to SheKnows.

Chocked full of star-studded celebrities -- from Hilary Swank to Robert De Niro -- New Year’s Eve is the romantic comedy that promises to make everyone’s year-end dreams come true.

New Year's Eve

Watching New Year's Eve is like being at a party at Elton John's house . You've got to keep your eyes peeled, because if you blink, you might miss seeing star-after-star-after-star.

The most exciting night of the year!

So, what's this movie about? It's New York City. It's the last night of the year. Confetti. Champagne. "Auld Lang Syne." But before we get to that, we start with the beginning of the day, where just about everyone has a bit of Dec. 31 anxiety.

Michelle Pfeiffer, Hilary Swank, and Lea Michele shine at New Year's Eve premiere >>

Oy vey. What am I going to wear? Whom am I going to run into? Whom am I going to try to avoid? Will all my dreams come true? With all the questions, only one moment can give the answers -- the strike of midnight.

Tracking several couples -- some romantically involved, some married, some strangers and others just friends -- brings to the screen a narrative similar to the successful 2010 vignette romantic comedy, Valentine's Day, which was also directed by Garry Marshall of Pretty Woman, Runaway Bride, Overboard and The Princess Diaries fame.

Cameos galore

New Year's Eve

Hollywood royalty Robert De Niro -- most convincingly -- plays a dying man who isn't so proud of his past. Halle Berry plays the nurse who doesn't want him to be alone on the most important night of the year, where everyone gets to hit the reset button on life.   Hilary Swank brings Oscar power to an over-achieving rookie in charge of the famed Times Square ball drop. Ludacris plays her work husband. He's so supportive and very cute in his role.

Josh Duhamel searches for his soul mate. Abigail Breslin -- Sarah Jessica Parker plays her mom -- tries to get her first kiss.

The most unlikely couple, Michelle Pfeiffer and Zac Efron, make for the most interesting pair, even if their storyline -- Pfeiffer enlists Efron, a near stranger, to help her complete a list of wishes on this last night of the year -- is a bit farfetched.

Sofia Vergara plays Katherine Heigl's saucy sous-chef and most certainly steals every scene, although her overly caliente take on life might feel like a stereotype to some.

Ashton Kutcher plays the cynical hipster . If we weren't so mad at Ashton right now, we'd say his bit is one of the cutest parts of the film. His character bumps into Glee's Lea Michele, who sings a beautiful song while trapped with him in an elevator. Lucky Lea .

I'm a cowboy, on a steel horse I ride…!

Jon Bon Jovi

Probably the biggest surprise in casting isn't a movie star at all, rather rocker Jon Bon Jovi as Heigl's estranged fiance. Wait a second, Jon Bon can act? We don't care! Seeing him in those tight black jeans and belting out two rocking songs is worth every moment.

Moms will love this shout out -- Seth Meyers and Jessica Biel face off with another couple to try to produce the city's first New Year's Eve baby.

New Year's Eve

In addition to those stars, Cary Elwes, Alyssa Milano, Common and so many others roll in so fast, you'll miss them if you look down for a handful of popcorn. So, stay sharp. This movie keeps you on your cameo-spotting toes.

Told with a similar comedic tone to Valentine's Day, this film also has a heartfelt sense of melancholy. If you like ensembles like Love Actually and He's Just Not That Into You but with lighter flair, you'll like this. You won't get a deep commentary on the meaning of life, but you will get in the mood for the last night of the year and hopefully embrace the idea that anything is possible, all you have to do is dream.

Bottom line: If you like celebrity spotting, romantic moments and seeing Jon Bon in tight black jeans , New Year's Eve is a sweet, cute, hopeful romantic comedy that will make a great date night for you.

Dr. Seuss' classic children's story The Lorax comes to life in 3D, thanks to a great cast which includes Zac Efron, Taylor Swift, Danny DeVito and Betty White. Watch the trailer for The Lorax here!

The creators of Despicable Me and Hop have come together again to bring Dr. Seuss' amazing, classic tale of The Lorax to the big screen. Shot in 3DCG, the adaptation of this classic story tells the story of the Lorax , a grumpy yet loveable creature who is trying to protect his world.

The Loax - Danny DeVito

Zac Efron voices the character of Ted, a young boy who goes on a mission to find the Lorax, in the hopes of impressing and winning the heart of Audrey, voiced by country superstar Taylor Swift. The Lorax shows a world in which everything is plastic, and real trees are nowhere to be found.

"Ted's just your regular kid growing up, and he lives in a world in which there is virtually no nature," Efron explains.

Zac Efron as Ted in The Lorax

"Audrey has these impossible dreams," Swift says of her character. "She dreams of things that are gone. Trees have been long forgotten." Betty White stars as Ted's Grammy Norma, while Rob Riggle plays financial king O'Hare and Ed Helms voices the Once-ler.

Taylor Swift as Audrey in The Lorax

The movie doesn't hit theaters until March 2, 2012, but you can get in the fun now by "liking" Dr. Seuss' The Lorax on Facebook to participate in "60 Days of Seuss — A Special Piece of Seussness each day!" And on March 2, expect a Suess-tacular surprise!

"The Seuss countdown begins, going 60 to 1,

Every day there's a post that's both nifty and fun.

There'll be color and laughter and joy 'til it ends,

So enjoy and then share it with all of your friends!"

Taylor Swift gets flirty with Zac Efron

Taylor Swift might not be ready for a serious relationship, but she might be testing the waters with Zac Efron.

Zac Efron and Taylor Swift: Dating?

Could another high-profile young Hollywood romance be in the works? Singer Taylor Swift and hottie Zac Efron were spotted together at an L.A. Italian restaurant and "were deep in conversation and very giggly."

The couple — co-stars in the upcoming movie The Lorax — arrived in Efron's Audi, an onlooker told US Weekly.

Has Swift moved on from Jake Gyllenhaal to another A-list male celebrity? Not so fast, another insider says.

"They were in L.A. doing press stuff together, and after they were done, they decided to grab dinner," the source told the magazine. "They have been friends a long time."

The two have a mutual respect for one another — Efron called the Speak Now songstress a "lovely girl, very beautiful." She's also called the former Disney star an "all-around amazing guy."

The songstress might just be playing the field right now, especially after her short-lived romance with Gyllenhaal.

"I really have this great life right now, and I'm not sad and I'm not crying this Christmas, so I am really stoked about that," she told Vogue in her new cover interview.

It also sounds like her romance with the older actor will be the theme for her upcoming album.

"There's just been this earth-shattering, not recent, but absolute crash-and-burn heartbreak and that will turn out to be what the next album is about," she told the magazine.

"The only way that I can feel better about myself — pull myself out of that awful pain of losing someone — is writing songs about it to get some sort of clarity."

We're ready and waiting for some angsty music, Taylor!

Hot couple alert: Zac Efron and Lily Collins?

$

Heartthrob Zac Efron has set off reports that he is dating actress Lily Collins after the pair was spotted sneaking out of a Los Angeles restaurant together.

Is Zac Efron dating Phil Collins' hot daughter?

It seems Lily Collins has nabbed herself another Hollywood heartthrob following her split from Abduction co-star Taylor Lautner. We hear the Mirror Mirror actress, 22, is cozying up to Zac!

Zac and Lily were caught trying to sneak out the backdoor of the STK Steakhouse in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

"Zac literally ran to the car and jumped in, leaving Lily behind," a nosy paparazzo told X17 Online this week. "But Lily kept her cool and took her time. She wasn't as worried about not being seen by us. She probably didn't want to trip in her heels!"

The couple was at the eatery for a birthday dinner for one of Zac's pals, a snoop squealed to People magazine. Insiders tell the glossy that the actor's romance with Lily is the real deal.

Lily Collins dumped by Taylor Lautner >>

"They even walked in holding hands… They had a drink at the bar together and then joined the birthday crew on the patio," the spywitness said.

Remember the good old days when Zac, 24, was practically married to his High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens? Sigh, simpler times.

These days, we can't keep track of who he's dating. In the past three months, the actor has been linked to fellow singletons Rumer Willis, Emma Roberts and Taylor Swift. And let's not forget about the cougars: Desperate Housewives' Eva Longoria and Rumer's mom, actress Demi Moore.

Lily is next set to star alongside British actor Jamie Campbell Bower in the action movie The Mortal Instruments. Meanwhile, Zac is going where he's never gone before on film… the bedroom!

The Disney graduate completes his move from teen idol to "serious dramatic actor" with a sex scene in the film version of Nicholas Sparks' bestselling novel The Lucky One. It's the story of a marine who returns home from the Iraq War, who tracks down a woman whose photo he found and used as a lucky charm during duty.

5 Guys we'd love to wake up to (and 5 we wouldn't)

Lucky Rachel McAdams! When she opens her eyes in The Vow after a bad traffic accident, she sees hottie Channing Tatum who — surprise! — is her husband. Sure, she has to get to know him all over again, but he's Channing Tatum! What's not to like? That got us thinking: What if we woke up, stretched our arms and found a movie star by our bedside? Which five guys would we love to wake up to? And which five guys would be such a nightmare we'd want to slip back into a coma? Here are our picks.

Yes, please!

1

Ryan Gosling

Ryan Gosling

"Hey, girl. I heard you have amnesia. Let me try to jog your memory." Insert kiss here. Is there anything that's more likely to bring about a total health 180 than the sight of the Gosling in a hoodie, maybe, and a man necklace of some sort, with a bit of scruffy facial hair and...? Oh, man, we're getting carried away.

2

David Beckham

David BeckhamJust once, we'd like to see the body that launched a thousand pieces of H&M underwear in the flesh.... In the sinewy, tattooed, sweaty, toned flesh. Does he even really have to talk to us? No. We just want to be the sole camerawoman in our own personal boxer-brief ad.

3

Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig

If the cause of our coma were something nefarious, and if we needed something, say, decoded or shot or tackled or kicked, rolling over to see sexpot Daniel Craig staring us down with those baby blue eyes and murmuring to us in that hot British accent would be welcome sights and sounds. Because not only is he a looker, but we also sense that he'd get to the bottom of our medical problems and set the record straight — especially if there were bad guys involved.

4

Zac Efron

Zac EfronWe like pretty, and angel-faced Zac Efron has "pretty" on lock. Just think: Golden sun rays are streaming through the window, making Zac's flawless skin and bare chest glow like a moonlit beach at dusk , and then he'd definitely say something thoughtful and inoffensive like, "Would you like some eggs and coffee?" Yes, Zac. Yes we would. And anything else you're offering.

5

Justin Timberlake

Justin TimberlakeHow about Justin Timberlake dancing a little jig to cheer you up? Or singing you a tune? Or, if you're really sad, having Justin bring Timbaland over and watching them sing–rap you a duet? Who better to croon a hospital lullaby than Mr. JT himself? But that's not what's so great about waking up to Justin Timberlake as your one and only. It's the personal satisfaction that comes from knowing you hooked him and no one else did. Boo-yah, Jessica Biel!

Up next: 5 Guys we wouldn't love to wake up to >>

{pageBreak}

No, thanks

1

Charlie Sheen

Charlie SheenThe Ma-Sheen is great for laughs, but being his bride? Let's not even joke about how scary that could get. On a somewhat brighter note, assuming no illicit substances are involved, spending a few moments with him post-coma would be the most simultaneously entertaining and terrifying 10 minutes of your entire life. Now that's an experience to check off your bucket list.

2

"Bachelor" Jake Pavelka

Guess what: Your new husband is a reality show suitor who may or may not be an actual pilot and also is probably a megalomaniac. We can see it now: He's strutting around the ER, flirting with the nurses and probably finding a nice clean corner of the hospital to do push-ups in. "What? The doctors don't know who I am? I was on Bachelor Pad, dammit! Do NOT interrupt me!"

3

Donald Trump

Donald TrumpTrue, The Donald is worth billions , but how many more iterations of The Celebrity Apprentice could you sit through and pretend to be fascinated by? Plus, if you're the type who likes to make over your guy, there's no way you could get him to change his signature hairstyle. At least you could befriend his daughter, Ivanka Trump, who, by all accounts, seems awesome.

4

Simon Cowell

4. Simon CowellWatch out, self-esteem: Your ego's new worst nightmare is having Simon Cowell as a husband. Can we even count the number of criticisms you'd be up against on a daily basis? "Your so-called miraculous recovery from your own coma was, frankly, uninspired. I've seen soap operas that were more convincing. Do us a favor: Close your eyes, go back toward the darkness, and try it again. The person in the next hospital bed would sell their soul to come back to life in front of me."

5

Criss Angel

Criss AngelThe problem with having magician Criss Angel as the love interest you open your eyes and see for the first time is that by the time you regain full consciousness, he'll already be gone — poof, just like that. Where is he? Vegas. Probably partying with Tommy Lee and some exotic dancers right now. Sorry.

Zac Efron and Taylor Swift clarify relationship in song

$

Zac Efron and Taylor Swift -- who lend their voices to the new Dr. Seuss animated comedy The Lorax -- have performed a song that they hope puts the kibosh on rumors of romance once and for all.

Zac Efron and Taylor Swift are in the City of Angels this week, promoting the release of their new film, Dr. Seuss' The Lorax. But when the twosome swung by The Ellen DeGeneres Show for a little pre-premiere promoting on Tuesday, they decided to clear up those pesky relationship rumors once and for all.

The pair poked fun at whispers that they are romantically involved by performing a duet cover of Foster the People's 2011 hit, "Pumped Up Kicks."

Dueting to deny a romance? We like it!

Zac and Taylor were rumored to be Tinseltown's latest "It" item after the duo was allegedly spotted on a dinner date last month. On Jan. 6, the High School Musical star allegedly enjoyed a "flirty dinner" with Swifty at Pace Restaurant in Los Angeles.

Both have denied that they're involved.

Taylor Swift gets flirty with Zac Efron >>

Of course, that didn't stop Ellen from prying.

"You are both adorable and adorable together, like a cute couple," Ellen quipped.

"I knew this was going to happen," Taylor and Zac responded in unison.

Throughout the interview, the daytime gabber kept jokingly referring to the pair's alleged coupledom.

"We are not a couple. He's awesome, we are not a couple though. You hear people get together when they're shooting movies, co-stars," Taylor replied before breaking out her guitar and breaking into song.

In fact, Taylor isn't seeing anyone these days.

Zac's been most romantically linked to Mirror, Mirror actress Lily Collins in recent weeks. The country darling, on the other hand, spent her Valentine's Day hosting a "pathetic single girls party."

"That was actually what it was called," she laughed. "I had my single girlfriends over and we had junk food, ate whatever we wanted and danced and made profile cards about why we are single."

The "Speak Now" songstress has famously dated the likes of Taylor Lautner, Jake Gyllenhaal, Chord Overstreet, John Mayer and Joe Jonas. But she never wants to be the girl who always needs a boyfriend.

"You have to be OK with it," she continued. "If you're that girl that needs a boyfriend and once she loses that boyfriend needs to replace it with a different boyfriend, it's just this constant stream of boyfriends all the time."

"I don't feel like I ever want to be that girl."

Do you think Zac and Taylor would make a cute couple?

Zac Efron practices safe sex on The Lorax red carpet

Zac Efron had a mortifying moment at the premiere for his new film with Taylor Swift, The Lorax. Find out if he really did drop a condom on the carpet.

Zac Efron's condom drama at The Lorax premiere

Talk about an awkward moment! Super hottie Zac Efron walked the orange carpet for the premiere of his new film, The Lorax, when he reached into his pocket. Something came with the actor's hand when he pulled his hand out — and some are saying it was a condom.

Whoopsies!

Now, we're not exactly sure if the small gold square was actually a condom, but it sure looked like it. Also, he looked pretty embarrassed about it, so we're going with condom.

It's not exactly a big deal — millions of twenty-something men are sexually active and we're glad he's using protection. The only embarrassing part is that it happened at a premiere of a kids movie. That's likely where the embarrassment came from — after all, he talked about condoms and sex in a 2009 interview with Elle.

"My mom is like, 'Zac, what did you buy in a sex shop?' I was like, 'Mom, calm down, it's not a sex shop.' She wouldn't have any of it. She's like 'I knew you were being sexual!' But she understood. My stocking was full of condoms this Christmas. She buys me the economy box."

The 24-year-old was dating Vanessa Hudgens at the time. Now, he's single and rumored to be hooking up with everyone from co-star Taylor Swift to actress Lily Collins and even Demi Moore. Swift told Ellen DeGeneres that they're not dating, though.

"We are not a couple," Swift told Ellen. "He is awesome, [but] we are not a couple, though."

"People get together when they're shooting movies, co-stars," she continued. "But not like animated movie co-stars."

Zac Efron: Yep, it was a condom

Zac Efron confirmed what we all suspected: Yes, that was a condom that fell out of his pocket on The Lorax red carpet.

Zac Efron admits condom drop

Zac Efron stopped by the Today Show on Thursday to promote his new film with Taylor Swift, The Lorax, but all host Matt Lauer wanted to talk about was Efron's pocket.

More specifically: What fell out of the actor's pocket when he walked the red carpet at the film's premiere. He then went on to confirm what we all suspected when a suspicious video surfaced last week.

"I never really had a pocket-checking policy when I was going on the red carpet before, but now we've fully instated one," he laughed when Lauer asked about the incident.

"You dropped a — a condom on the red carpet," the Today Show host stammered.

"That was really hard for you to say!" Efron joked. He has a good sense of humor about it — and why wouldn't he? He's a red-blooded 24-year-old boy with women flocking all over him.

He's still not dating Taylor Swift, though.

Efron also managed to talk a little bit about The Lorax. He revealed that the author's wife wrote him a letter specifically asking him to take the part — talk about pressure. However, it all makes sense for someone who grew up with Dr. Seuss on constant reading rotation.

"My dad was a huge fan of Dr. Seuss… He's got an original copy of The Lorax from like 1971 or something like that, so he read it to me growing up," Efron said. "It was a big part of my life and my education."

That's all well and good, but we want to know more about his sex life — was his condom drop a lesson in safe sex for his younger fans?

"That's a great message," he joked. "To add to the many messages in the film."

Meet The Lorax. He’s a mustached, orange ball of fluff whose sole purpose is to protect trees. Brilliantly voiced by Danny DeVito, this sometimes annoying but always hilarious creature will win your heart and inspire your children to care about trees.

the lorax

"Put anything in a plastic bottle and people will buy it."

Zac Efron is the voice of Ted, a tween with a crush on Audrey -- sweetly voiced by Taylor Swift -- who will do anything to impress her, including finding her a real tree in time for her birthday. You see, Ted and Audrey live in Thneedville, a city without trees or flowers or anything natural at all. In fact, greedy businessman Mr. O'Hare, voiced by Rob Riggle, has plans to sell air in plastic bottles, all while his "air factory" spews out more pollution, malevolently creating more consumer need for clean air. Luckily, with the encouragement of his grammy, lovingly voiced by comedy-queen Betty White, Ted goes on a quest to find a real tree for his beloved Audrey and finds out what happened to them in the first place.

After sneaking out of Thneedville, Ted finds The Once-Ler, voiced by one of my favorite comedians, Ed Helms. The Once-Ler is a misanthropic recluse who tells Ted his woeful tale about chopping down all the "Truffula Trees," turning them into Thneeds and defeating the irritable but fluffy Lorax, perfectly voiced by Danny DeVito. It seems Thneedville was once a lush forest, full of singing fish and cuddly bears who delighted in eating marshmallows before industrialism went awry. Wide-eyed and hopeful, Ted grows determined to bring trees back to Thneedville, despite the steel-willed Mr. O'Hare and his evil industrial empire.

Wonderfully animated and in happy 3-D, The Lorax is adapted from Dr. Seuss' 1971 cautionary tale about what can happen to the environment if consumerism runs out of control. Causing controversy from the logging industry 30 years ago, there's no doubt there will be 21st century haters, too. But there's no arguing that trees are important. We couldn't breathe without them and a film that encourages children to care about preserving and planting trees should be celebrated.

Bottom line: The unfettered fun and 3-D in The Lorax will have you feeling more like you're on a thrill ride than sitting in a movie theater. It will entertain the whole family while encouraging the next generation to value the environment. Win-win!

Love Zac Efron's body in The Lucky One? He shocked himself!

Zac Efron is back on the big screen -- this time without any kind of musical number or supernatural element. Oh, and without a shirt on. How did he transform?

Zac Efron transforms for The Lucky OneZac Efron plays a U.S. Marine returning home from Iraq in The Lucky One, the new film co-starring Taylor Schilling and penned by the novelist that tugs at all our heartstrings, Nicholas Sparks. But all those hot makeout scene that show off Efron's body required a ton of work on the actor's part -- after all, he's supposed to be a man just coming from war.

"I didn't feel like I was the type of guy to actually portray them accurately," Efron says in the latest issue of Men's Health. The actor accompanied director Scott Hicks to Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in Southern California, where Efron met with Marines and researched the role straight from the real thing.

"They were my age -- 23, 24, even younger. And most of the staff sergeants were not huge guys. They were about my height, 5'9", 5'10", some shorter, but all very stocky. And I'm there in a backward hat and Vans, walking around like I'm still in college."

It was then that the seriousness of his new role struck a chord. "It's much different from the lifestyle I'm living over here," he says. "Where do you start the conversation? I didn't know what to say, what questions were inaccurate."

To get into believable Marine shape, he loaded up on protein, gained weight and trained with a former Navy SEAL. "By the end of the movie I didn't recognize myself. You hear about guys like Christian Bale who dive into it and are really able to transform. I've always wondered if I had the willpower to actually do it. And I'll always have pride around the sense that I can." We're loving the new and improved look, Zac!

Sex scenes with Zac Efron for The Lucky One? "No big deal"

What's it like to film a handful of super steamy sex scenes with Zac Efron? According to Taylor Schilling, it's like making out with a friend -- a very good looking friend.

Taylor Schilling says sex scenes with Zac Efron were simpleZac Efron showed off his musical theater talents in the High School Musical series, his comedic timing in 17 Again, and his emotional capabilities in Charlie St. Cloud. And in The Lucky One, he's showcasing his Marine muscles -- yes, Taylor Schilling is a lucky one for playing his co-star!

"I was very nervous," she admitted to People. "I met Zac in hair and makeup and we just hit it off immediately."

Their chemistry came naturally once on set. "It was just very easy and that sort of click is something you can't describe but you just really hope for, because then it just makes the process really easy. I feel lucky to count him as a friend."

So once it came time to take off each other's clothes and kiss passionately in the shower, Schilling didn't find it awkward at all. "[Director Scott Hicks] shot all the love scenes at the very end of the shoot and at that point we had already become good friends," explained Schilling. "I had never been to New Orleans and he knew New Orleans and we were able to hang out a bunch, so we were at that point very comfortable with each other. I think the harder part is doing some of the emotional scenes and then once those are done, it's like, you want me to kiss you? Meh. No big deal."

Though simple to film, Efron knew how important these scenes are to Nicholas Sparks fans. "From his past films, [director Scott Hicks] is incredible with capturing the love in those scenes. Everyone builds those scenes up," he said at Monday's Hollywood premiere of The Lucky One. "There is sort of a fear inherent in everyone else so me and Taylor weren't afraid at all."

Zac Efron goes from boy to freakin’ hot man in what could be the best romantic film of the year. After downing protein shakes and hitting the gym with an ex-United States Marine, Zac gets a bod that will have you swooning every moment of The Lucky One. Oh, and did I mention his amazing performance?

The Lucky OneZac Efron plays Logan, a Marine on his third tour of duty who finds the photograph of a mysterious but lovely young woman. Just as he reaches down to pick up the photo, a bomb goes off. This simple action saves his life, which he attributes to the woman in the photo. Upon returning home, he becomes obsessed with finding her. But who brought this photo to the battlefield in the first place? Is she someone’s wife or daughter? This secret adds to the delicious layers of mystery in the story.

Noticing a lighthouse in the background of the photo, Logan manages to find the Louisiana town where the photograph was taken. He makes a pilgrimage from Colorado on foot with his faithful dog Zeus by his side. He does find the woman, pretty and lithe Beth, played by Taylor Schilling. Before he can tell her the purpose of his visit, she assumes he’s there for the job in her dog kennel. A little weirded out perhaps by his aspiration to wield a pooper-scooper or more likely by the intense sexual pheromones he exudes, this is hardly love at first sight for Beth. It’s her grandmother Ellie, a delightfully plucky Blythe Danner, who ends up hiring Logan. And the romance begins!

Zac Efron ups his acting game by playing Logan as a man who’s tightly wound yet unable to articulate his experiences of war. By giving a solid, but appropriately understated performance, we acknowledge that Logan’s still waters run deep and make him the eye candy we are desperate to unwrap and taste. Nicholas Sparks, author of the book on which the film is based, has skillfully crafted Logan as a broken young man with a kind heart who knows that life doesn’t often reward kindness. Schilling plays Beth as a protective mother with many emotional scars of her own. Her caution about letting a new man into her life is understandable, especially when we meet her ex-husband Keith, played by meatheaded Jay R. Ferguson, a man-child who hides behind his sheriff’s badge and wealthy family. Blythe Danner as Ellie adds a comfortable safety net to the emotional and physical threats that swarm the story, especially as Beth and Keith’s son Ben, played by the adorable Riley Thomas Stewart, gets used as a pawn in Keith’s power game. The rural setting complete with river, tree house and an autumn full of changing leaves make for a visual paradise that comforts the hurt and pain of the wounded characters involved. And did I mention the dogs? In this story, they work as symbols of faithful, loyal companions creating loving relationships to which most humans can only aspire.

Bottom line: This is an emotional, visual and romantic gift that will likely stay with you for some time. If you loved The Notebook, surely The Lucky One will find a place in your heart. And so will Zac Efron .

Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling interview

Zac Efron adnTaylor Schilling on the love in The Lucky One.

SheKnows sat down with The Lucky One stars, Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling -- that’s Schilling folks, not Swift, keep it straight, to find out if these two gorgeous co-stars believe in the destiny of love.

Taylor Swift and Zac Efron just friends... yeah, right! >>

Zac Efron

“Yeah, I do,” says Efron, a little shy on revealing his true feelings about the subject at hand. He was even more reserved when we got to the questions about the love scene. Come on, ladies. It’s Nicholas Sparks. There is, of course, a steamy sex scene, in the water, on a hot summer day. You love it. So do we!

Hot, steamy love scene!

“I do a little pre-warm up and stretching,” Efron jokes. Schilling laughs. He is adorable; she knows it. But Efron quickly tries to debunk any rumors that filming a sex scene is anything more than a day at the office. “Those scenes are sort of build up,” he says.

“We were very comfortable,” Schilling pipes up. “We had done so many scenes together at that point,” Efron says, “that we had a great rapport.”

You mean on-screen chemistry, right? The sex scene between Schilling and Efron is the whole reason to see this movie. We won’t give away any details, but if you know anything about Nicholas Sparks , you know there’s water, sweat and a whole lot of laughing before things get down to business and steamier than ever.

Sounds pretty sexy, right? Were there any light moments while filming? “Sometimes, in very serious moments…” Efron says. “That’s when you just cannot stop laughing.” Apparently, the scene that cracked them up the most was shooting their first kiss. “We lost it,” Efron says. “If we get loopy or we’ve been up too late, that’s when it happens.”

Who's laughing at Zac Efron's steamy sex scenes?

Who better to judge your latest work than your own mother? Zac Efron didn't think any differently until he watched his steamy sex scenes on the big screen with his mom.

Laughing at Zac Efron's sex scenes

Even though Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling agreed that their sex scenes were simple to shoot, the leading man of The Lucky One didn't think they were awkward until he watched the movie with his mother, Starla.

"We saw the film together and I was kind of squirming," Efron told People at Thursday's New York City Cinema Society screening of the movie. "Even though she was a couple of seats down from me, I tried to duck out during those scenes because it was too embarrassing. Obviously I'm acting, but knowing that my mom and my family were watching is kind of awkward. There's really no way around it."

While we're gushing about Efron's new body and ogling him throughout the film, his mother just laughed instead.

"She was just laughing about it in a good way," Efron said. "She said, 'That's my boy!' I think she was proud of me at the end of it, even if it was weird for her to watch. My mom is my biggest supporter."

Efron believes that his mother raised him to be considerate of others at all times -- especially women.

"She's always giving me tips like that," he said. "My mom is the number one person who has taught me to be courteous towards women, to always be respectful and polite to them, and to always lead with your heart."

Top 5 summer celeb hookups we'd like to see

'Tis the season for summer flings. With that in mind, we started thinking about who among the Hollywood elite we’d like to see hook up as the weather heats up. Take a look at our top picks and feel free to weigh in with your own in the comments!
1

Prince Harry and Blake Lively

Prince Harry and Blake Lively

We know she’s firmly in loved-up relationship mode with cutie Ryan Reynolds, but can you just picture the queen’s face when she opens the paper one morning to see the headline, Blake Lively caught sneaking out of Prince Harry’s window? OK, the queen probably doesn’t know who Blake Lively is, but she and Harry would be a fun summer fling simply based on the fact that they’re evenly matched esthetically, and she’s about as all-American as you can get.

2

Michael Fassbender and Demi Moore

Michael Fassbender and Demi Moore

The Hollywood hot commodity is still riding high from his critically acclaimed performance in Shame, and he received rave reviews for his role in the deep space flick Prometheus. So basically, he’s riding high. Demi needs a pick-me-up. Her career has been on the downturn for a while, and let’s not forget the embarrassment Ashton Kutcher caused her when his cheating ways were splashed all over the tabloids. He’s hot; she’s still got it -- it’s a fling made in summer heaven. Not to mention how great these two would be for gossip.

3

Zac Efron and Taylor Swift

Zac Efron and Taylor Swift

Swift was burned by John Mayer and Jake Gyllenhaal in the past and she kind of, sort of, went on that one date with Taylor Lautner. She’s been linked to a few others, but before she falls in love again, we think she needs to cleanse her palate with a good, old fashioned summer fling. Why not Zac Efron? They’re both adorable, around the same age and like the two most popular kids in school. It just makes sense for them to hook up.

4

Halle Berry and Colin Farrell

Halle Berry and Colin Farrell

She’s been with Olivier Martinez for a while, but should that abruptly end in the next few weeks, we think Colin Farrell would be a great choice for a hot summer hookup. He’s changed his playboy ways, while she seems to have amped up her craziness in the past few years , so these two might just balance each other out. Plus, they’re both ridiculously good looking.

5

Leonardo DiCaprio and Scarlett Johansson

Leonardo DiCaprio and Scarlett Johansson

This one might seem out-of-the-box, but that’s exactly what a good fling should be -- something you might not have expected. She might be dating some advertising dude and he’s got a new model on his arm , but we think these two would be a great hot weather hookup. They’re matched in looks and pedigree, plus she probably still needs to shake off the ick-factor from last year’s brief dalliance with Sean Penn and who better to help than DiCaprio?
